UMW Toyota Motor has given the Toyota Corolla Altis a slight update, as it gains a few optional extras.
For a start, the optional Value Package includes a new-design digital video recorder (DVR), DVD-AVX infotainment system with reverse camera, Toyota premium security and solar film as well as new illuminated scuff plates. The Value Package is priced at RM6,137.40, and is offered for free for new customers.
There’s also a new panoramic view monitor (360-degree parking camera) for RM2,650 and front USB charging ports for RM212 – as offered on the Vios earlier. As before, there’s a DVD-AVN navigation upgrade for RM1,272 and an Aerokit styling package priced at RM2,438, which includes front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and a boot lid-mounted spoiler. You can also package the Aerokit, navigation and panoramic view monitor together for RM6,360.

Beyond the new options, the cars are largely unchanged in terms of specifications, with halogen headlights and 16-inch alloys being fitted to the 1.8E and 1.8G as before. The 2.0V gets LED projectors and larger 17-inch wheels instead. Safety kit is equal across the range, including seven airbags, VSC, traction control, ABS and Isofix rear child seat anchors.
Under the hood, models with the ‘1.8’ designation are powered by a 2ZR-FE 1.8 litre Dual VVT-I petrol engine (139 PS and 173 Nm), while the range-topping 2.0V gets a 3ZR-FE 2.0 litre unit instead (145 PS and 187 Nm). All engines are paired with a CVT automatic featuring a seven-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic Mode.
The Corolla Altis range starts with the 1.8E that goes for RM117,400 (on-the-road without insurance), followed by the 1.8G at RM120,300 and finally, the 2.0V at RM134,900. Each purchase comes with a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty, and a choice of six body colours. Detailed specs here on CarBase.my.
