Rylo 360 Camera

the story

Even if you’re not a downhill skier or extreme parkour runner, having a killer HD camera that captures 4K picture in 360-degrees is an amazing gadget to own. The Rylo 360 was developed by two of the creators of Hyperlapse, Instagram’s smooth as butter image stabilizer for time lapse video.

What that means is you get cinema quality image stabilization whether you’re pinning some gnarly single-track, swimming with the dolphins, or just recording fetch with your dog.

why we like it

The Rylo is a great camera, no doubt, but what really sets this above the rest is a feature called object tracking. This lets you set a person or moving object as the focal point, even if it’s fast, and keeps it in frame automatically.

Not only does it have next gen features like 4K video capture at 30fps with two 208-degree fisheye lenses, it comes in at a lean, mean fighting weight of about 100 grams.

We haven’t even gotten to arguably the coolest feature: editing on your phone post shoot. This means you don’t have to worry about dutch angles, extreme close ups, and other fancy film terms. Just shoot and enjoy the moment.

the competition

There’s the $299 Insta360 and the much pricier $699 GoPro Fusion. The Rylo finds the sweet spot right in between. While the others have similar features, we give the advantage to Rylo for best in class image stabilization and the ability to pinpoint an angle right on your phone.

Who wants to worry about shooting while your on an adventure? Did Indiana Jones worry about framing when he was running from that giant ball? No, no he didn’t.
