Crime Stoppers: Suspect pulls two guns during stick-up –

A double-gun robbery made a double-fright at a local convenience store.

By day, the 7-Eleven in Huntersville is busy with cars getting gas – mainly because it’s right next door to the large auto mall near I-485.  But after midnight, there aren’t many customers around.

And one man, in a red NC State hoodie sweat-shirt, must have known it.

From an overhead 360 camera, we can see him pull out two guns.  That’s right, two guns. A black pistol in each hand.

“It’s rare that we see something like that, Paul,” said CMPD Detective Tori Roddey.  “Normally everybody has one gun, but this guy came out like he’s in a western.”

And just like a western movie, he gets the drop on the clerk.

“The employee was actually kind of dozing off a little.  He told him get up and this is a robbery.”

Before the clerk can react, the crook demands money from the till, and he’s careful not to touch anything to leave fingerprints.

“He had what looks like a toboggan on, with a black scarf on his face, the black jeans, and the red NC state sweatshirt.”

Because this is an area which doesn’t suffer from high crime rates, it was no surprise to learn the same convenience store was robbed only once before.

“This area hasn’t had that many troubles. I think maybe a year ago they had a robbery at this same store.”

Before leaving, the bandit made the clerk lay flat on the floor.
The well-disguised man is last seen on surveillance running away.

“We always say when the person is covered up completely, and if someone calls in Crime Stoppers that can match what he has on, or the knows someone with the same height, about 5’8″ and 140 pounds, real slim, we always pay extra for those types of crimes.”

If you know anything that can help, call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 and you won’t have to leave your name for a nice payday.
